TAMPA, FL, October 1 --Veredus Corporation ("Veredus"), a Tampa, FL-headquartered technical staffing company and privately held firm, was named one of Atlanta's "Best Places to Work" by the Atlanta Business Chronicle for the 2nd year in a row. Veredus was ranked third in the Small-Employer Category by the publication.
Each year, the Atlanta Business Chronicle, in partnership with Quantum Market Research, surveys businesses and organizations to find those that have discovered the secrets to being one of the area's best places to work. The award, which cuts across industry lines, recognizes leaders in employee relations and management.
Veredus Corporation's Managing Director, David Brown, accepted the award on the firm's behalf at a special event held at the Georgia Aquarium, on Friday, September 25, 2009.
"To be recognized as one of the best places to work for the 2nd year in a row, is an incredibly humbling achievement," Brown said. "Although the current business climate has been very challenging, this award demonstrates that we are doing business the right way."
Brown fosters a culture of healthy competition in the office - whether it is running a 10K, gunning for the high score at a bowling outing, or securing placement of an IT professional within a client company. "In this business, the reality is you're always in competition" notes Brown.
Making the List
Atlanta Business Chronicle, in partnership with Quantum Market Research Inc., recently surveyed the metro area's businesses and organizations to find those that have discovered how to be among Atlanta's Best Places to Work. More than 200 companies participated. To find Atlanta's 2009 Best Places to Work, the Chronicle asked readers to nominate workplaces in metro Atlanta. Nominations were accepted during June through the Chronicle's Web site. From July to mid-August, employees of the nominated organizations filled out online surveys containing 37 questions about their work environment, co-workers and managers. All answers were evenly weighted using a six-point Likert scale (1=strongly disagree, 6=strongly agree).
Veredus is based in Tampa, but also has offices in Maitland, FL, Atlanta, GA and Raleigh, NC and manages all types of technology staffing. The company stresses a quality, long term approach to staff augmentation. Many of the company's internal staffers have been with the company since its inception.
